Mozart Cycle Trail, stage 12: Niederndorf to Kössen
A short, yet variety-packed stage in the Tyrol section of the Mozart Cycle Trail. From the Inntal proceed up into Tyrol's Kaiserwinkl to Kössen. A longer rest at the idyllic Lake Walchsee definitely ought to be factored in.
In Niederndorf, at the church, head in an easterly direction – past the sports ground – up to the main road which you cross with caution and then bear left for some 1.5 km on the cycle trail next to the road, where we take a left to head for Rettenschöss - around 1.4 km ascent to Harland, continuing to Rettenschöss – take a right here to Lake Walchsee – at the "Schwemm" moor area and past the golf course to Lake Walchsee – in an easterly direction on the lake promenade – a brief section on the main road to Kranzach – then bear right and proceed up and down hill via Bichlach to Niederbichl, where the Mozart cycle trail variant arrives in Kössen.
