Moorland

Moorland
Visit the Schwemm Nature Reserve in Walchsee - the biggest moorland in North Tyrol
At the feet of the imposing Kaisergebirge mountain range, which is made up of the Zahmer and the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, and right by the same-named lake lies the village of Walchsee - an ideal family holiday location and one of the most beautiful summer holiday regions in Tirol.
There are not many regions in Austria that are equally perfect for water sports enthusiasts and mountain aficionados alike. Frolicking by and in the lake Walchsee (water temperature of up to 24 degrees C) with a hiking and mountainbiking paradise just next door - that is truly unique to the Kaiserwinkl.
Just ten kilometres from the German autobahn A93 lies Walchsee. On the outskirts of the village are gentle slopes, on which skiing and snowboarding novices can have fun learning their first moves. Here the guests have a modern 4-chair lift at their disposal and two snow cannons ensure skiing enjoyment on the Amberg and Zahmer Kaiser. Walchsee offers an optimum of service at an attractive price, especially for young families. The Walchsee skiing school has a modern skiing kindergarten with a magic carpet and merry-go-around, giving the children a playful sense of the joy of skiing. Cross-country skiers glide over the freshly prepared slopes at Lake Walchsee or circle the conservation area of Schwemm (Natura 2000).
